Symposium "Trauma and Utopia" & "Innovative City Forum 2014"

The Mori Art Museum and Academyhills will present Symposium and Forum, themed with art at the brand-new spot, Toranomon Hills, in October.
Inviting experts from the various fields as speakers, events will be a special opportunity for anyone interested in art.

Symposium Jointly Organized by Mori Art Museum and Tate Research Centre: Asia-Pacific
"Trauma and Utopia: Interactions in Post-War and Contemporary Art in Asia"

The Mori Art Museum and the Tate Research Centre: Asia-Pacific of London, established in 2012, jointly present a symposium entitled "Trauma and Utopia," to explore mutual interactions and transnational impacts in art in Asia from the immediate post-war years through the present.
In this symposium, academics and curators from around the world will gather to discuss a wide range of topics, from artistic engagements in political and social development and the urban landscape around Asia, to the notions of utopia and dystopia in the recovery from post-war period to the present in the field of performance art, and the individual artists' practice that reflect the ideas of trauma and utopia amongst other pertinent topics.

Admission: ¥1,000 per day (¥2,000 for both days), MAMC Member Free

"Innovative City Forum 2014"
How will we be living in 20 years?
Designing the Future for Global Cities and Lifestyles

Innovative City Forum is an open international conference to discuss designing the future of cities and urban lifestyles in the context of the question, "How will we be living in 20 years?" It brings together a diverse array of speakers from across the world-including researchers and entrepreneurs at the forefront of cutting-edge technology and urban development, as well as inspired designers and artists who push the boundaries of creativity-and provides them with a forum to share and discuss their personal visions for the future of our cities.
This year, the second hosting of ICF signals its transition to an annual event that will continue to serve as a novel and unparalleled platform to discuss designing the future of cities and urban lifestyles.

Speakers are Nanjo Fumio (Director, Mori Art Museum), Inoko Toshiyuki (Founder of teamLab), Saito Seiichi (Rhizomatiks / Creative & Technical Director), et al.

Admission: A pass for all three days is available for ¥15,000 (including tax).
* Persons to attend only on October 8 could register for ¥1,500.
