A special April Fools Day version of MAMC Night was held on Tuesday April 1st with all members invited to bring their guests for free admission.
The night began with a gallery tour by Nanjo Fumio (Director, Mori Art Museum). Appearing a little overwhelmed by the large crowd, he pressed on nonetheless, and the tour progressed smoothly, with whispered comments shared by tour members in response to Nanjo's commentary. After fully enjoying the tour many of the members disappeared again into the exhibition to get a second look at works that had caught their attention, or to relax on the designer furniture dotted throughout the galleries.

A second gallery tour, titled gLooking at the exhibition from the viewpoint of exhibition design,h was conducted by Maeda Naotake (Exhibition Designer, Mori Art Museum). This tour provided visitors with the opportunity to experience the exhibition from a different point of view and at the same time gain insights into how exhibitions are assembled and arranged, and also how the Mori Art Museum works with its many supporting companies to make the exhibitions a reality.
Considering the popularity of these gallery tours, we are hoping to provide more behind-the-scenes tours like these, exclusively for our members in the future.

Last but not least, members were treated to a celebratory lottery with a variety of prizes up for grabs. To name a few of the items given away, there was an autographed catalog from the Indian artist Shilpa Gupta, who will be participating in our upcoming exhibition gContemporary Art from Indiah (tentative title), a red Panton Junior chair provided by inter office ltd., one of the exhibition sponsors, as well as bottles of rose champagne from another exhibition sponsor, Nicolas Feuillatte.
Even those members who didnft draw a major prize went home with a set of post cards gRoppongi Crossing 2007 agnes b. selectionh created and provided by agnes b. They also received a set of gUBS Art Cardsh and a gUBS Rubikfs Cube,h both from the exhibition partner UBS.

The next MAMC night, to be held during "History in the Making: A Retrospective of the Turner Prize," is scheduled for Tuesday 3 June. If you would like to join in the fun, then please consider joining MAMC now! Instructions for joining are available online.
Finally, we would like to express our gratitude to each of our sponsors who were kind enough to contribute special prizes for the lottery.
