Mori Yoshiko, Chairperson Emerita of the Mori Art Museum, Passes Away

The Mori Art Museum announces with great sadness the passing of Mori Yoshiko, Director of the Mori Building Company and Chairperson Emerita of the Mori Art Museum, on December 23, 2025. Mrs. Mori, who died from pneumonia, was 85 years old.
Together with her late husband, Mori Minoru, founder of the Mori Art Museum and Chairman of the Mori Building Company, she opened the Mori Art Museum in 2003. For more than two decades since then, she devoted herself with great passion to contemporary art, and as the museum’s founding Chairperson, it was her joy to contribute to both the international development of the museum and contemporary art in Japan. At this time, we would like to express our deepest gratitude for the kindness and support shown to us during her lifetime.
