Explore the "Andy Warhol" outside of the Museum!


Legendary installation piece, Rain Machine

Warhol's Rain Machine was first unveiled at the Expo '70 Osaka United States Pavilion. It was born out of an attempt to combine cutting-edge technology with art. Even though the work was discarded due to deterioration after the end of Expo '70 Osaka, the improved version of Rain Machine later produced will be exhibited for the first time in Japan since Expo '70 Osaka.

* Rain Machine will be exhibited from Saturday, March 1 through Tuesday, May 6 next to the "Andy Warhol Café" (located at Tokyo City View observation deck, 52F, Roppongi Hills Mori Tower).

Tokyo City View "Andy Warhol Café"

"The Andy Warhol Café" will be open from Saturday, March 1 through Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at MADO LOUNGE SPICE, located at the observation deck corridor of Tokyo City View (52F, Roppongi Hills Mori Tower), as a special Mori Art Museum 10th Anniversary Exhibition "Andy Warhol: 15 Minutes Eternal" event.
During this period, visitors will be able to enjoy the café interior, specially outfitted with designs in honor of Warhol's art, along with a view 250 meters above sea level. A special 'Andy Warhol menu' will be added to the regular café menu.

Andy Warhol BMW Art Car

The BMW Art Car Project commissioned Andy Warhol and artists such as Roy Lichtenstein, Frank Stella and others to produce BMW Art Cars. A total of 17 Art Cars have been commissioned from 1975 to the present for this unique collection. The BMW M1 Group Racing Version painted by Warhol will be on display, along with rare film footage recording the process. Visitors can freely photograph the car.

BMW Art Car painted by Warhol now on display!

"Andy Warhol Film Retrospective 2014"

"Andy Warhol Film Retrospective 2014" at Theater Image Forum (Shibuya, Tokyo) features 13 Andy Warhol films. It is the first major retrospective of Warhol's films in Japan in 20 years. The films will be screened in the original 16mm format, providing a unique occasion for appreciation of Warhol's films.

Roppongi Art Night 2014

Roppongi Art Night is a one-night, all-night, festival of art staged throughout the streets of Roppongi. The extravaganza spans the whole of the Roppongi district, centered on its art museums and other cultural institutions, large-scale building complexes and shopping centers, and features a range of events from art exhibits, music and performances to public discussions. During Art Night, the art museums stay open late and offer discounted admissions, and local shops and restaurants offer various special services.
