The Architecture of Sou Fujimoto Talk Session: The Future Shape of Cities
The Architecture of Sou Fujimoto Related Program
Conducted in Japanese
The final section of the exhibition concerns a proposal for a futuristic city that emerged from a conversation between Sou Fujimoto and Miyata Hiroaki. Envisaged as a complex combination of spherical structures of various sizes, the proposed city is equipped with all functions necessary for life and, like a forest, lacks a center and is open in multiple directions. In this talk session, architectural historian Kurakata Shunsuke will join Fujimoto and Miyata to contemplate the future shape of cities while quizzing them about how their vision emerged and the features of their proposed city.
