Mori Art Museum Disaster Relief Charity Talk Session: "Designing Japan for Tomorrow"

Japan's society has faced unprecedented challenges ever since the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11 this year, and people in all fields of endeavor continue to seek ways to move toward recovery as well as reconstruction of the Japanese society on the whole.    The Mori Art Museum has decided to organize a talk session where those currently active in such fields as art, design, and architecture in the recovery, restoration efforts and policy administation can deliver proposals for the reconstruction, and present creative visions for the future.

The Mori Art Museum brought together artists, activists, and IT industry figures in "Art for Life," a program held on March 26 to support disaster victims. With the cooperation of artists active on the global stage, we also held the Great East Japan Earthquake Charity Art Sale on April 16-17. In addition, we played as a bridging role in donating the charity auction sales raised by artists, some of who are participating in the "French Window" exhibition (currently on show at the Mori Art Museum) to the Japanese government with the purpose of preservation and restoration of cultural property.
This talk session is the 4th attempt in its series.

100% of the admission fees and donations collected at the venue will be donated to relief efforts. It is Mori Art Museum's fervent hope that with input from the spheres of culture and art, these efforts to support Japan's recovery will gain further momentum.
