The latest edition of the “MAM Documents,” documentation of the symposium organized by Mori Art Museum has now been published.
The book is the documentation of the symposium jointly organized by Mori Art Museum and Hyundai Tate Research Centre: Transnational “From Alexandria to Tokyo: Art, Colonialism and Entangled Histories” held online in December 2020. Including documentation of the sessions by panelists, discussions, and bibliography, this book focuses on the impact of various forms of colonialism from North Africa to East Asia on the formation of modern societies, and examines the unorganized histories, construction of memory, and multiple conflicting narratives that are brought to light in the process.
