Urgent Talk 053: Performance Art Land (PAL)
Japanese-English simultaneous interpretation available
The “Urgent Talk” series provides a platform for discussion around artists, curators, critics, activists and others across the globe engaged in significant, innovative work that demands urgent attention.
In this edition, Performance Art Land (PAL), a series of site-specific projects realized around the world through collaborations with artists and other organizations, will be featured. In its 2025 edition, PAL Wales 2025, a total of four artists from Japan, China, and Wales, UK, created new performance works and video pieces at various locations across Wales.
In this talk, the project’s curator and two participating artists will introduce PAL Wales 2025 and explore the relationship between site-specific performance and its video documentation.

Performance Art Land (PAL)
Performance Art Land is a flagship project produced by IVAE (International Visual Art Exchange), specifically tailored in one site for domestic artists, organizations, heritage and culture, for its local communities and audiences, and also, for international world of contemporary art. Through the PAL, we are committed to support the cross-cultural and interdisciplinary communication through creative practices, to promote site-specificity and site-sustainability and stage the global situations of climate emergency and environmental issues through art practices, amplify the unheard voice, and within our artistic and curatorial innovations, ultimately, to reinterpret the history and culture of one certain site to the world.
